Destin 2010

A trip to the beach is supposed to be relaxing and sunny… Ours was anything but!  The 8 hour drive was miserable for the kids.  I potty trained Alexis the week before, so potty breaks were quite often… and Grayson would not sleep!  He is teething, so he was extremely miserable!!!  We did finally make it and got to enjoy the pool for a little bit.

The rooms had bunk beds, so Grayson slept in crib beside harrison on the bottom bunk.

Grayson was covered in sunscreen and ready for the beach!

This is our one full, pretty day!   We enjoyed the beach for a little bit, but never got in the ocean… There were tar balls along the shore, but we did not get close enough..

It has been such a busy summer.. the kids were loving the pool.  It only took about 10 minutes and the kids were enjoying no hands!

After 3 days of rain, we were determined to swim… Ten minutes later, downpour!!!  So, we headed for cover…

Thanks to Krestyn, I was able to enjoy the vacation.  The kids loved her… After this trip… I decided I need a 12 year old!  Any one want to rent theirs???

Easton is also a great help, but the kids were too shy around him!

The last night of the trip…. We went to Baytown to eat, as soon as dinner was over… RAIN!!!  We went back to the hotel… AND… the electricity was OFF!!! Seriously!!!  The transformer blew!  So, no air, no lights, and no sound machine??? The kids would not be able to sleep!  So, at midnight we finally got another room…

Harrison could not get the relationship between the ‘Transformers’ and a transformer separate.  He was so determined to see the transformer!  It was pretty funny…  The kids did really well on the way home, even though it did take 12 hours!!!  We will plan our next family trip to the beach in 2020, when the oil spill is cleaned up and hope for NO hurricane!
