It was soccer time (during the fall)… and Jamboree! Our first game was a rainy day, but harrison was so excited to play.
Because we had practiced for the games, but not known much about the game of soccer… i did not know what to expect. As Harrison’s 6 team members got ready, the other team didn’t seem so sure. Of course Harrison was the tallest 4 year old out there…
As he scored his first goal, he came galloping down the field with one finger held up… then two.. and three… then 8! I was sitting a little too close to the opponent side and could hear all the parents saying, ‘he is too old’…’blah, blah, blah’… I finally looked at them and said… ‘i’m sorry, but his is only 4… the same age as your children’ BUT… after halftime, Travis told him to share and help the others… he then assisted Kimber to score 4 goals. He would take ball away and guard her as she kicked down the field to score. Then the opponents were saying… ‘wow! he is so sweet!’
I was proud at his ability, but more proud of his support of the others. The team did end up winning 21-0. We played them the last game of the season and won 22-0!
