When we found out we were moving to Alamo, it was the day after I sent in Harrison’s registration to Joyland in Paris. He was so excited to go there with his friend Truitt and others!
Then we had to determine where to go in a new town… and break the news to Harrison! He took it really well, except for our uncertainty as to Alamo or Jackson. With the difficulty of finding a house inside Crockett County lines, we were certain about his ability to attend Alamo. Finally, we were able to ‘get the hookup’ and prove that we will be in Alamo FOREVER!!!
With all that said, Harrison is now in PreK in Alamo City Schools! I also had to get over the shock that my first born would be gone from 7am to 2pm… 5DAYS a Week!!! What a shock!
So… he has now started preK. The first two days, we were able to walk him to class… but Monday was the end of that! Travis dropped him off at the road and watched him walk in! My heart was pounding 20 miles away! Travis calls and makes me even more nervous! He told me that the crossing guard promised there was someone inside the door waiting on him! I couldn’t wait until 2pm to make sure… So, I text one of my friends at the school. She reported that he was lined up heading to music class… doing great!
With the completion of Day 5, he is now a pro. He and Travis get up at 6am, shower and leave the house at 7:05. Travis drops him off, and I pick him up at 2pm. He has reported many things…. But Davis, Dalton (I thought his name was Dolphin), Carson, and two others I can’t remember… are now friends!!!
I am so proud of him!!! *SOB* *SOB*
Teachers have to walk them to the car and buckle them in!
He was so worn out on the first day, as he got in the car… he said I didn’t want to go to PreK… it was too long! Of course that broke my heart! By the next day, we was ready to go again… and LOVES IT!!!
Another day, with his hair cut!
